Review by hotel critic
The restaurant ambiance was warm and inviting, with a classic country pub feel that added to the overall charm of the place. One of the highlights of my dining experience was the selection of new ales and guest beers from local brewers. I had the opportunity to try the Jubilee Stout from Kirkby Lonsdale, which had a rich and robust flavor that was truly satisfying. the Langdale Ale and Black Sail were also delightful choices that showcased the region's brewing expertise. To the fantastic beer selection, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. the finest premium meats sourced from locally reared fell bred stock were featured on the menu, and I must say, the flavors were exceptional. the freshest locally caught fish and game were also on offer, ensuring a diverse and fulfilling dining experience. I had the chance to sample some of the Wilsons' very own branded products, such as jams and sweets. These homemade treats added a unique touch to the meal and highlighted the dedication to quality ingredients and craftsmanship. To top off the dining experience, I attended one of the pizza nights at the Wilsons, where the talented Italian pizza chef, Martina, prepared delicious pies that were truly mouthwatering. the combination of authentic Italian cuisine and local ingredients made for a memorable evening of dining. Overall, my time at the Wilsons was made even more special by the exceptional food and drink offerings. From the array of ales to the exquisite meats and homemade products, every aspect of the dining experience exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a taste of local flavors and a welcoming atmosphere.
